This is a really engaging story but I find the FMC hard to tolerate. She's constantly complaining that the guys don't treat her as an equal but then she does stupid stuff (like risking her life for a car) and you just want to facepalm. Maybe if you acted like an adult they might treat you like one? I like the guys but I don't really love them. The fae is such a jerk and we're still not given a good reason for his attitude. I don't mind when a guy is a little rude because of some personal issues but I need to know that he has a legitimate reason for being a jerk. So far, I'm not seeing a reason. Despite the fact that Jack is her first mate, I really don't feel like I know much about him.I do like the whole unicorn and rainbow path to another world thing. It's pretty original and I'm interested to see how it all works out. I'll be continue the series but hoping that Carlyle grows up some.
I didn't think this book could possibly be better than the first but I was wrong. From page 1 I was thrown right into Carylyle's world. Every detail the author explained i felt as though I was there. You got to see how much stronger Carylyle is becoming as a quilin and person . There were some emotional times and steamy scences. I laughed and at times just had to say WOW! This book had everything i could ask for and I can't wait for the next book in the series.
I love this series! Like book one, I finished this in a day. I love the concept for this story, and in this book the pressure was turned way up. I was on the edge of my seat, practically biting my nails in agitation (if I'd had free hands..) for the last 20%. Although there were some really intense moments there, there was also downtime during which we saw more relationship building, and, of course, plenty of steamy scenes. Cant wait for #3!
Piece of Shifter picks up right where Piece of Dragon left off. It's fun, hot, sexy, and not lacking in any way. It's entertaining and grips you from start to finish. As soon as it's over you will be begging for book 3. Laurel Chase is fantastic. Not only does she create an amazing story she brings it too. 5 stars all the way.
In Piece of Shifter, we hit the ground running with Carlyle and the guys. There's growth in terms of connection with the guys and Carlyle working on her abilities. There's also learning what it means to be part of a team I feel like. Excited to see where the series continues to go!
Freaking fantastic series so far! The story and non stop action keep you enthralled from start to finish. The characters are awesome and I seriously can't wait to five into book three!
I can't say anything because spoilers... but yay! They ______ the _______ and got ____________! And now they are ______! Action packed and also super hot.
Loved the different personalities portrayed with the guys and how they each fit the plot of the story/different needs of the main character perfectly.
