I haven't worked on crossword puzzles for a while. They are hard to find in the grocery stores where I shop and I found I missed having the mental challenge. Yes, I could pull out my smart phone but sometimes I like having a physical object in my hand, like a puzzle book and pencil. It soothes my mind to work a puzzle.I bought these easy puzzles as I wanted something I could pick up and work and put down and come back again later. They are hard enough right now to get my mind flowing. I also like anagrams and logic puzzles so I will probably pick those up later.The puzzle book itself is rather nice, the paper is of good quality and the printing is clear and large enough for my old eyes to see. The size is a little bit large for sticking the book into a purse or pocket, but if I am going somewhere I find a place for it. I can work a puzzle waiting in line, at the doctor's office or relaxing at home. Once you have worked a couple puzzles you catch onto the dictionary of words they are using rather easily. I was thrown off at first by the fact a lot of the puzzle inventors use two words without mentioning it, but I expect that now. This is well worth the purchase.
I loved the puzzles and completed them all! I like that they were progressively more difficult.
I really liked the larger size, the puzzle being on the right side of the page and the type set is easier to read on the clues. The paper is excellent for erasing and the pencil shows up better on this type of paper. Best one I have ever ordered.
This was a well put together book with good paper. The puzzles were interesting and it was fun to find out what the theme was. They do seem to be getting harder as you go into the later puzzles, but still great fun to do. I also like that they are done on one page, not back to back.
So far, three out of 20 puzzles do not have all of the clues for the numbers in the crossword box. Missing the last several usually or, in once case, what would amount to nearly a full column of clues in the DOWN section. Otherwise, pretty good. Not as easy as I hoped for my sister with Alzheimer's, but ok for me.
The inviting cover design is a wonderful way to attract new solvers into the wonderful world of crossword puzzles.
This crossword puzzle book is just what I like: right kind of paper, just-right difficulty of puzzles, right size. Really enjoying it
