I loved the recipes, as did my husband. However, after 3 weeks I had lost only 3 lbs. When I got weighed in at the doctors yesterday I was up 2 1/2 lbs. I don't know what else to do except make my portions smaller than recommended.
This book is really a nice, basic introduction to the DASH diet. I read for my mother because of her high blood pressure. I find that this book outlines a plan for reducing high blood pressure through diet that is very helpful. And it is great that it can help her lose her weight as well.Love the step by step instructions on how to balance blood pressure and reduce risks of diabetes and easy to prepare dash diet recipes. Makes adopting the dash diet a breeze for beginners like me!

It is easy to follow and I can already tell that all of the recipies are going to be something that my wife and I enjoy! This book is an incredible introduction to the DASH diet. I wanted a plan that followed sound nutritional guidelines and had some research to back it up. It has recipes in one section or example meal plans in another. I immediately eliminated Sodium and any processed food, went on this diet and exercised every day. I'm working to get back on track but I know the rules now and what works for my body so one day at a time. Definitely Good Guide!!
